Carp Lake Township in Ontonagon County, Michigan, includes the towns of White Pine, Green, and Silver City. It’s history is rooted in the state's copper mining industry, with its development starting around 1858 near the Carp Lake Copper Mine. Over time, the township also saw the rise of logging and farming, particularly by Finnish immigrants, who established many farms on logged-over land. The Nonesuch Mine, a prominent feature within the township and Porcupine Mountains State Park, also played a significant role in the area's history.
